She became a LPN and worked as a nurse throughout her life. She always had a passion for art and she filled her free time pursuing various activities. She dabbled in many mediums acrylics, oils, pen and ink, etc. In the 1990s, she took up folk art and decorative painting. In the end of the decade, she opened Strokeworks in Woodbury, CT. It was a folk art and decorative painting store. She offered weekly painting lessons to people of all ages. She had even brought in several well known painters from around the country in this craft to teach. The store closed about 2002-2003. She continued her passion in the arts once moving to South Carolina and began creating occasion cards in which she created a few of her own stamps and created cards with mixed mediums including painting them, etc.
