Okay, maybe it's not for charming snakes, but it is interesting! It's a soft fiber that may be sweet grass. The lid threaded through with a thin green fiber carrying string. When you look inside, you will notice a geometric pattern formed by using a dark brown natural grass. It has faded on the outside.
