Nice turn of the century Watercolor on paper landscape with a waterway passing through the center by noted artist Pauline Meyer Colyar (American, 1873-1928).
The painting measuring 9” x 6”. Foxing is present on the image.
It is prominently signed " PM Colyar" in the lower left corner. Born in West Virginia in 1873, Pauline (Meyer) was the wife of Frank Colyar. By the age of 15 she was teaching an art class in Cincinnati and was exhibited at the exposition held there in 1900. She lived in New Bedford between 1895 and 1927, when she and her husband moved to Los Angeles where she died on June 15, 1928
There are Colyar paintings in collections of: Peabody Museum in Salem, MA, New Bedford Public Library and New Bedford Art Museum, MA, among others.
