Rare piece: Boreal/Funeral Owl

Framed size: 14 1/2 x 21"
Plate Size: 16 3/4 x 10 1/2
Owl Size: 7 x 8"

Wood frame. Matted and protected by glass

Base of owl is in Swedish: The notation "storre sten-ugglan" is Swedish for "larger stone-owl,"

Bottom left of plate is in Latin: Noctua major oculis majoribus viridibus pallide luteis
vrf. icon p. 170 - with the final lines again in Swedish.

Very usual and beautiful piece. We believe it is circa early 1800's.

Notes: Matted and framed antique piece. Equisite condition -- a very rare piece of natural history
