Item Description

This vintage sculpture is SOLID ironwood, which is incredibly dense and very hard to carve [also quite heavy . . .feels as heavy as a bronze sculpture]. The carving is second to none, and he is expressive and lifelike. Stands an impressive 13" in height, with a weight of roughly 10 pounds. It is likely from the Ivory Coast, where expert carvers have created higher end sculptures for decades. This is NOT a new sculpt, at least 50 years old. Condition is very good.
