What Can a Bidder's Account Tell You?

Sellers can now view a bidder’s registration date, as well as the number of auctions for which the bidder has successfully registered a credit card. This information provides additional context about a bidder’s history and activity on the platform.

While these details alone do not determine whether activity is suspicious, they can be useful indicators when evaluating a bidder’s overall account history and identifying activity that may warrant closer attention.

Go to clients --> select the account ID # --> to the right of the bidder's name, you will now see the registration number, and the number of authorized auctions.

Knowing that a bidder is actively purchasing from multiple sellers can provide helpful context when evaluating bidder behavior. It can indicate a broader, ongoing interest in AuctionNinja and demonstrate that the bidder has successfully completed transactions with other sellers on the platform.

Additionally, when a bidder’s payment information has been successfully accepted by multiple payment processors, that transaction history can provide an additional layer of confidence that the payment method being used is legitimate and functioning as expected.

While this information is not, by itself, a guarantee of authenticity, it can be a useful data point when considered alongside other fundamental aspects of the bidder's account.

Registration Date:

Bidders with well-established accounts can provide an indication of a positive and trusted history on the platform. In general, concerning or consistently negative bidder behavior is often identified and reported by sellers, which may result in an account being restricted or deactivated when appropriate.

An active account that has been in good standing for more than two years can therefore offer valuable context when evaluating a bidder’s history. While the age of an account alone does not guarantee that a bidder is trustworthy, a longer, established history of activity can be a meaningful indicator when considered alongside other account and transaction information.
