Q&A

What got you interested in secondhand, vintage and antique items?

Growing up some of my fondest design memories are of the incredible scores my sister would find while “antiquing”. She was always scouring thrift shops, auctions, flea markets and antique stores for a great find. I fell in love with the idea of reusing and repurposing materials to curate an eclectic style all my own.

What are the two things that you always find yourself Bidding on/ looking for when shopping second hand?

Anything mid century modern (we’re a little obsessed) and art pieces from any genre really; we love to mix and match to create gallery walls that are intriguing and provocative. We feel art should make you question, evoke feeling and bring forward fruitful discussion. Our gallery walls are always a conversation starter!

What’s your absolute favorite item purchased at an estate sale or online auction?

Vintage art. We love to give life back to such beautiful pieces- each telling a story of a place and time in its own way.

Any tips or advice for online auction or estate sale newbies?

Do your research and have a price in mind (we always wait until the last second to bid to see where things will land). Sometimes we win and sometimes we lose but we always tend to know the value of an item and where we think we should land for pricing.
