HERMES Silk Scarf Etriers By Franoise De La Perriere Circa 1985

The Etriers were designed by Françoise de la Perrière for the Maison Hermès and first issued in 1964.
In the center, a huge Peruvian pyramid-shaped stirrup which dates back to the second half of the nineteenth century, anchors the composition. Just below is what resembles a women’s slipper, “Sandal of the Amazon”,a “slipper stirrup”. These stirrups were used by women riding sidesaddle style.
