Item Description

Nifty vintage figural advertising ashtray for Vachon Gâteaux/Cakes, Quebec, made by Beauce Pottery, Canada, circa 1950s, the ceramic body in diamond form with the company's name in deep relief, a baker or chef emerging from the V, approx. 8-5/8" x 4-7/8" x 1-1/4", marked "Beauce, Canada, 1482."

A striking, sculptural, whimsical mid-century souvenir from this legendary institution famous for such treats as the May West and Jos Louis, as well as the Canadian maker/distributor of Hostess baked goods.

CONDITION: A bit of faint, minor crazing, otherwise in very fine, attractive condition, with no cracks or chips.
