Item Description

Twelve plates from the South Main Street Congregational Church, Manchester, New Hampshire, made by Ridgways, England, circa 1905–1920, heavy restaurant ware, each with rolled rim banded in green and red, the centers with brown transfer design depicting the church and its name, including six 7" salad or dessert plates and six 6" bread plates, each with underglaze crown-and-wheel Ridgways mark.

The church building depicted was in use until 1922, when it was demolished and replaced by a Colonial-style structure (still in use, renamed the South Main Street Church).

CONDITION: A few minor incidental scratches and rubs, otherwise fine, bright condition, with full original gloss, clearly little (if ever) used. Please note that only one of each plate is shown.
