Item Description

"The Oxford Book of Death" is a hardcover book that was first published in 1983– first printing. It is a collection of poems, essays, and other writings about death from various authors throughout history. Another book related to the topic of death is "The Denial of Death" by Ernest Becker, which was first published in 1973 in an early printing. This book explores the concept of death and how it affects human psychology and behavior.

Two other books related to history and society are "The Angel Makers" by Gordon Rattray and Ray Taylor, and "Medieval Households" by David Herlihy. "The Angel Makers" 1974, first printing of this edition (reprint with updates of an earlier issue). It tells the story of a group of women in Hungary who poisoned their husbands and other family members during World War I. "Medieval Households" is a book about the social and economic organization of medieval households, published in 1985 — a first printing.

Finally, "Her Immaculate Hand: Selected Works by and About the Women Humanists of Quattrocento Italy" is a book about the contributions of women to humanism in 15th-century Italy. It was published in 1983 as part of the "Medieval and Renaissance Texts and Studies" series, specifically volume 20.
