Important associations, with numerous marginalia, this book was borrowed by artist William prior, from artist Charles Codman to William Prior.
William Matthew Prior (May 16, 1806 – January 21, 1873) was an American folk artist known for his portraits, particularly of families and children.

Charles Codman (1800 – September 11, 1842) was an American painter. A native of Portland, Maine, he was known for his landscape and marine paintings.
