Production: 1945 - 1949
History
The 308 Yard Sign Set was first introduced by Lionel during its prewar era and was available for three years between 1940 - 1942. When Lionel's postwar production began, Lionel re-introduced this accessory. Although it was available for five years, it is not an easy accessory to locate in complete, collectable condition. Generally, there are some damaged or broken signs.
Features
Standard features on the 308 Yard Sign Set include: die-cast base, pole and sign painted with a white enamel color and highlighted with black lettering.
Original display-type inserts for the boxes are usually missing or damaged. A complete box insert will command a premium. The set always included the following five signs:
W (whistle)
Danger Do Not Trespass
