Cal Ripken Jr. played 21 seasons with the Baltimore Orioles. Ripken recorded 3,184 hits, 431 home runs, and 1,695 runs batted in during his career, and he won two Gold Glove Awards for his defense. A 19 time All-Star, Ripken is known for breaking Lou Gehrig’s record for most consecutive games played at 2,623. Ripken retired on October 8, 2001.
