A good quality two-day marine chronometer by Thomas Mercer no. 20007, made by Frank Anthony Mercer. The silvered and engraved dial with up/down indicator and subsidiary seconds housed in a good quality three-tier mahogany box with plaque signed.
The high quality chain driven spotted plate fusee movement numbered 20007, with Earnshaws detent escapement, with compensation balance and steel helical spring. Blued steel hands.
The numbered (20007) brass bowl set in a brass gimbal, mounted in the fine quality original mahogany case, with double hinged lid, with original locks and key.
