Item Description

Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments - Chessie Steam Special, Pennsylvania GG-1, 700E Hudson Steam Locomotives

Pennsylvania GG-1 Steam Locomotive - Die-Cast Metal Dated 1998:
First Seen in 1947, the legendary Lionel GG-1 is one of the most popular locomotives in the company's nearly 100-year history. It is patterned after the Pennsylvania railroad GG-1 Electric Locomotive developed in the 1930s to speed passenger trains through northeastern rail corridors. This series of highly detailed ornaments offers a different locomotive each year, enabling you to build a collection that stars some of the best-known Lionel models ever to brighten a child's eyes on Christmas morning.

Chessie Kitten Locomotive - Die-Cast Metal Dated 2001:
Because a cat is said to have many lives, the Chessie kitten is the perfect emblem for this locomotive! Built by Baldwin in 1923, it was converted in 1945 to a faster, more powerful T-1 by the Reading Railroad. After being relegated to a scrap yard, it was rescued and restored in 1974 - to become one of three locomotives that proudly pulled the American Freedom Train on a 25,000-mile tour celebrating the nation's 1976 bicentennial.

700E Hudson Steam Locomotive:
Lionel Electric Trains and Christmas just seem to go together. Produced since 1900, the trains are prized by hobbyists and collectors for their exacting detail and historical accuracy. This new Keepsake ornament series features popular Lionel locomotives and leads off with the highly collectible 700E Hudson. The first die-cast engine of its kind, it was manufactured in O-gauge in 1937.
