Bound Volumes Boys Own London 1884-1889. 6 Volumes spanning October 1883- September 1889. The Boy's Own Paper was a British story paper aimed at young and teenage boys, published from 1879 to 1967. The idea for the publication was first raised in 1878 by the Religious Tract Society, as a means to encourage younger children to read and to instill Christian morals during their formative years.
The volumes are 3/4 leather with marbled boards. All are in good- condition with wear to covers, except 1885 which has detached covers and crumbling leather. Some bindings need to be glued. Many foldouts particularly in earlier issues. Pages are age toned, some wrinkles and damage, some pages detached.
