Bill Ely Watercolor

Bill Ely watercolor "November Afternoon" John Willian “Bill Ely” Jr was born in in White Plains NY September 7, 1913. He enrolled at Pratt Institute School of Art and graduated in 1935. In 1936 he began drawing pen and ink illustrations for pulp magazines. Over the next 30 years his work appeared in DC Comics, Marvel, Dell, Centaur, Fiction House, Zifg-Davis, Hellman and Charlton. In the early 60’s he and his wife moved from NY to Milford Connecticut where he enjoyed life as a fine artist painting landscapes. He died November 12, 1983 at the age of 80.
Painting measures 19 3/4” x 16” framed. It is in good condition.
