Obituary for Church- CHURCH. Frederick L. Church, Jr., 79, formerly of West Road, Canton, died Wednesday (July 19, 1995) at the Governor's House, Simsbury. He was born in Washington, D.C., Nov. 28, 1915, son of the late Frederick L. and Catharine (Brehaut) Church Sr., and had lived in Washington, D.C., and Arlington, Va., before moving to Canton in 1978. He graduated from the Bliss Electrical School (1934), and attended the University of Maryland College of Engineering, and George Washington University Law School. He was elected to the Pi Gamma Mu National Social Science Honor Society, and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1943 from the American University. He worked all his professional life (1936-1977) for the Riggs National Bank of Washington, D.C., having served as Chairman of the Trustees Pension Trust. He was a Trustee at the Washington Hospital Center, Chairman of the Fiduciaries Section of the D.C. Bankers Association, President of the Greater Washington Area Chapter of the National Nephrosis Foundation, Inc., the State Liaison Council and Legislative Council of the American Bankers Association Trust Division, and was a charter member of the Washington Society of Investment Analysts. He retired in 1977 from the Riggs National Bank, as Executive Vice President of Trusts. Former memberships included the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity, Wilson Senate in Washington, D.C., the Washington Golf and Country Club of Arlington, the Corinthian Yacht Club of Washington, D.C., and was a life member of the National Geographic Society.
