Abner Stevens Circa 1820’s Drum

Abner Stevens rare circa 1820’s drum. Snare drum with bentwood cylinder, red painted hoops, vellum drum heads, ropes with leather tighteners. Decorated with brass tacks. Painted decoration includes eight-pointed star.
Paper label on the interior says: “ABNER STEVENS, Keeps constantly for sale, at his FACTORY and MUSIC SHOP, in the Village of Pittsfield, (Mas.) made in the neatest manner, all kinds of, DRUMS from Bass down to Toy Drums, FIFES, FLUTES , HAUTBOYS, VIOLINS, and other kinds of musical instruments, Violin and Bass Viol, STRINGS, BOWS, REEDS &c. 1822" . The date could possibly be 1824 or 1829 as someone wrote over that part of the label.
