1930s Paris Woodblock Prints:
Airplane by Gaston Nick circa 1935. The painter, etcher, and wood engraver Gaston Nick was born in Ajaccio, Corsica, around 1885. He went to Paris to study art, but his career did not take off until the 1920s, when he emerged as an important book artist. He changed his name to G. Nick Petrelli after WWII. Period gold painted wood frame measures 10 3/4 x 8 3/4. Much of the paint is rubbed off the frame and there is no hanger. Good Condition.
Man Hunting by Pierre Lissac (1878-1955) woodblock circa 1937. Period Gold Painted wood frame measures 7 1/2 x 11 1/2 and shows age appropriate wear. No Hanger.
Woodblock of Car circa 1932 by Morin Jean (1870-1940). In painted wood frame measuring 8 1/4 x 6 1/4. Moisture spot on upper right corner of print.
