Item Description

This Hand signed/numbered lithograph from Alexandra Nechita’s 2002- Ladder of Giving is entitled "Maestro in the Studio".
Hand numbered in pencil lower left corner: 58/199
Embossed in lower left corner: Mourlot Paris & bird.
Hand signed in pencil in lower right corner ‘Nechita’ .

This is exact same size and identical framing as the other two signed Lithographs in Nechita’s ‘Ladder of Giving’ (2002) also on this auction! This trio is one of Nechita's best, rarest, and most desirable series she has ever created "The Ladder of Giving Suite" which was completed with her full realm of genius. The pieces are each numbered 58 from the very scarce edition of 199.

This is your opportunity to own an authentic group of works by the child who painted with the Style of Picasso and the color of Matisse, Alexandra Nechita, was born in 1985 and began drawing at the age of two. At seven, she was painting with oils and acrylics, and her first exhibit was a one-woman show held at a Los Angeles public library when she was just eight years old. Alexandra's talent was instantly recognized as crowds came to see her amazing and often monumental paintings. After seeing her art, the press labeled her "The Petite Picasso." Alexandra attracted the attention of art critics and media who began telling the world about this rarest of child prodigies - an artist who had mastered drawing and color, an artist who had created a visual language of her own, in a unique, lyrical, figurative, abstract cubist manner, an artist who had only recently turned nine years old. By age ten, she was producing strikingly accomplished canvases, which were easily compared to the work of talented, fully mature artists. Her works have a developed artistic personality, highly sophisticated and fully alive to the nuances and possibilities of her medium.
