oseph Gourdji 1927-2009
Born in Baghdad, Iraq, Joseph Gourdji came to American in 1939 at the age of 12 years old. His creative life included everything from skating professionally with Sonja Henie to being an antiques dealer to making his own line of unique jewelry. His jewelry was enamel on metal and accented with rhinestones, but he also did some cartoon style pieces on paper mache.
This talented New York man made his wonderful jewelry from the 1990s until his death in 2009.
