VINTAGE NY WORFM 98.7 POSTER - THE BIG TOWN SOUND - DAVE SCHILLER - J. MICHAELSON - 1967 - RARE!!
Contributed by Jacob Zissu from the collection of Patricia J. Murphy. Circa 1969. The late Patricia J. Murphy had worked at the FCC and then held legal positions at RKO General and at ABC. She collected these posters while working as an executive for RKO General at 1440 Broadway and saved them all these years. It's unusual and we don't believe they were ever being used in a marketing campaign. The "New York" poster is dated 1969 and is by artist David Schiller. The "Gettin' It All Together" poster is signed by an artist named Larson.

These posters were not created during the first year of WOR-FM when it was an AOR/Progressive Rock station. They were created in 1969 when it was programmed by Bill Drake in his “Boss Radio” format, although he didn’t call it that. The station was marketed as both “The Big Town Sound” and “Memories Are Made of This”. It was both a hit singles and an oldies format. Poster has corner pin holes, some tear & tape shadows.

Condition: Good Condition; Some items have fading & scratches; May have some natural chips, cracks or stains due to years of use and storage; All items have been kept in storage, so items may be dirty or very dusty; Item needs cleaning; Please see pictures
