A grouping of 3 sewing baskets. The largest a Penobscot sewing basket with lined interior - several small splint breaks and wear and holes to the linen base - overall good condition - measures 5"H x approximately 11" square; a beautiful Mohawk covered knitting basket with orange and green splints, tightly woven made from wooden mold - note the extraordinary work to perimeter of the yarn hole in lid - very good condition - measures 5"H x 5" diameter; and a signed Seneca Indian covered sewing basket - pencil signed on base "Seneca Tribe" - probably from one of the NY Reservations near Buffalo - amazingly no splint breaks and in very good condition, circa 1930-50. Provenance: From the Doris and Jerry Soldner collection, Lake Carmel NY (formally of Kingston NY).
