An original lithograph in color of MARC CHAGALL's "The Flute Player". This was part of an overrun of 6000 unsigned impressions for the book edition of Chagall's work. Published in 1957, it was intended as the centerfold, as witnessed by the center crease. Printed by Mourlot, Paris, No 197. This lithograph was never used as a centre fold in a book as it has no perforations on the crease line. A rare piece of Chagall's work. This is not a mass produced reprint but an original lithograph intended for the first or second edition of "Chagall" by Jacques Lassaigne. There is one being sold on Ebay for $1,650. If it was signed it would fetch between $5,000 to $7,000
