Item Description

Steel pot helmet and helmet liner, appears to date back to between 1943-1964 and may be either a WWII model or a WWII model repurposed for the Korean War.

Westinghouse Helmet Liner with front eyelet, stamped "D-15" with Scholl liner band. Has some scuffs, scratches and markings that express the character of the helmet's original owner. Rusting at the front eyelet hole. Has original leather chinstrap but strap is torn off into three pieces, with only one short piece still attached to liner. A-washers have some rusting and attract to magnets, indicating they are not steel.

Fixed bale pot has been repainted and is fairly smooth texture, with its heat stamp and maker's mark apparently covered up by the paint. Because of this, pot cannot be accurately dated and there is a slight chance pot is a high-quality replica. Still has partial chinstrap with hook. Repainting has left some paint marks on strap and bales. Hook has significant rusting. Scuffing, scratching, paint chipping and rusting consistent with wear and use.
