The Ocho Riod Jamaica West Indies Playboy Club Hotel opened in 1965 as Playboy's first hotel, following the success of domestic club operations. It closed in 1977.
The Lake Geneva Playboy Club Hotel was the first to open in the United States and operated from 1968 to 1981.
Of several large hotel resorts opened by Playboy in the 1960's and early 1970's, Jamaica and Lake Geneva were the only ones that were successful.
