About the Artist: As per back of frame: Born in New York City, Irina is the 4th generation of artists on her mother's side her mother Erma was a multi-media artist and her grandmother was a miniaturist painter. After majoring in art at Skidmore College, Irina raised a family of four children before pursuing her art career in the late 70s . She studied at 2 art schools in England; Mounts Bay and Weobley Carlton Plummer, the late Irving Shapiro and Marshall Joyce as well as Skip Lawrence, Don Stone, TM Nicholas and Australian watercolorist Bob Wade. During the past 18 years Irina has had numerous solo exhibitions. Abroad she has established in London and at Southend-By-Sea. In Germany in 1985 she had a major exhibition at the corporate headquarters of Siemens International. In the US she has had numerous solo exhibitions at NYNEX in Marlboro, Massachusetts and in NYC at the Scully-Keogh Gallery. Irina is a member and exhibits yearly at the Jerry Exhibition of Academic Art Association in Springfield, MA. In Vermont, she exhibits regularly at the Luxton-Jones Gallery and Shelbourne Vermont in Connecticut Irina exhibits at the signature Gallery in West Hartford. In Massachusetts, she is a member and exhibits seasonally at the North Shore Art Association in Gluocester, and as an associate member of the Rockport Art Association. Irina is presently president of Vermont Watercolor Society. Irina makes her home in Chester, Vermont where she paints from her studio/gallery “Highland Ponds”.
