He Was Born In Los Angeles, California, And Became A Full-Time Artist In The Mid-Sixties. Until 1975, He Studied Academic Principles Of Fine Art At The Acclaimed Theodore Lukits Academy In L.A. While Being Trained In The Classical And Figurative Aspects Of Drawing And Painting, He Also Experimented On His Own With Unique Abstract Color Techniques In Various Media. By 1971, James Siebert Turned His Talent To Stone Carving. He Began Carving Realistic Figurative Subjects, Many With An Ocean Theme. Later, He Evolved Abstract Pieces Exploring The Essence Of Form, With Each Sculpture Expressing Classic Grace And Beauty. From 1973-78, The Fine Arts Sculpture Gallery At The Mgm Hotel In Las Vegas Represented The Stone Sculptures Of James Siebert. By 1980, He Started To Produce Limited Bronze Editions Of His Sculptures, And Pioneered Unique Cold-Casting Techniques. The Siebert Art Studio Was Founded In The Same Year, Primarily For These Reproductions, And Has Steadily Grown Ever Since. The Limited Editions Were An Immediate Success. To Date, Many Editions Have Been Collected, And Are Included In The Collections Of The Reagan And Clinton Administrations, Arco Petroleum And Hollywood Props. In 1987, The Metal Arts Gallery In Southern California Featured James Siebert In Abstract Visions, A Successful One-Man Show Of Abstract Pieces, This Time, Foundry-Cast In Polished Bronze To Enhance The Effect Of Light. In 1988, Siebert Began To Create Sculptures Cast In Clear Resin, Which Provided An Entirely New Dimension To His Works. Over The Following Decade, James Siebert Continued To Develop His Painting Style To Creating More Heavily Textured Surfaces With A Sculptural Relief Effect. These Paintings Are Sometimes Abstract In Form, And Often Incorporate Imagery From The Natural World, Such As Marine Life, Or From Ancient Times, When Man First Engaged As An Artist Painting On Cave Walls. Siebert’s Unique Contemporary Paintings And Beautiful Sculptures Have Been Represented By Over Thirty Galleries In The U.S. He Has Participated In Art Expos In New York And Los Angeles, The Maui Marine Art Expo, And Has Placed Awards In Sculpture At The Beverly Hills Art Show And Others. Presently, His Work Is More Selectively Shown In Galleries In California And On The East Coast. Hide
