Pair of really great Carl Kauba Bronze reproductions. These include Viennese style polychrome bronze of a Native American rower on canoe, and an archer on marble base, both marked on base as shown. In very good used condition with minor age-appropriate patina and wear as shown. Please see photos for more details. Approximate Measurements: Canoe: 10”W x 5.5”D, Archer: 5”W x 4”H
About the Artist: Carl Kauba (* 1865 in Vienna ; † 1922 there ) was an Austrian sculptor and small sculptor. After learning the chaser trade , Carl Kauba graduated from the technical school for chiselers and bronze workers . He then studied in 1892/93 with Karl Waschmann at the Vienna School of Applied Arts . Subsequently, Kauba produced particularly numerous animal bronzes and depictions of Indians. Most of these then ended up in the United States . In 1897 he presented the bust Pallas in red and yellow bronze in the Vienna Künstlerhaus . Kauba was a member of the Wiener Künstlerhaus cycling club
