8 volume book set with protective clear plastic jackets and well cared for entitled "History of the United States from the discovery of American continent by George Bancroft". Boston: Little Brown and Company 1858. The first volume in titled: history of the colonization of the United States by George Bancroft volume 1/16 edition, Boston: Little Brown and Company 1858. Very good vintage condition with some different type setting in the book, and I see some pencil underlining. There were two plates in volume one, the governor of Massachusetts and John Smith, both with rice paper covers and several other prints. Each book covers a different time in history. Well volumes have a raised seal stating: library of Percy greaves.
