A note about the car from the owner's best friend:
1967 Mustang 2+2
A few words about my best friend’s ’67 Mustang…
…I met Lou in June 1968; we were selling motorcycles at a local dealership and our boss noticed that I was driving my Mercury Cougar XR-7 GT and he mentioned that I might like knowing my future friend because he owned a 1967 Mustang GT. The one thing our boss got right was that we would enjoy knowing each other; as it turned out, for over 50 years until my friend died in late 2019.
About his car: since he was very young, he ran a newspaper route in a Detroit suburb for years and saved his money. His father worked for the Tractor Division of Ford Motor Company and traveled the world teaching ascending agricultural culture how to use Ford tractors and implements in their new farming endeavors. After my friend earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan, he special ordered the Mustang through his father’s A-plan discount afforded Ford employees. His father was rather frugal, being half Czech and half Belgian in post-Great Depression times so he encouraged his son to save on perceived insurance premiums to order the car with the standard equipment three speed manual transmission. The GT package included the 289 4bbl engine; the father discouraged ordering the 390 or 289 HiPo options.
My friend didn’t like center consoles so he deleted it from the interior package.
In about 1992, we had our best line-mechanic at the Ford dealership I GM’d install a Ford top loader 4 speed transmission, a Detroit Locker rear differential and we installed a heavier front sway bar and HD shock absorbers all around. The original three speed transmission, shifter and linkage and the open differential are included with the car.
Receipts for maintenance indicate true mileage of less than 40,000 miles; I can verify that the car sat in storage for decades with only occasional use on fair weather days.

Notes: Excellent
