About the Sale
The items in this auction were collected over four generations of a family’s personal and professional lives. Included in the auction are items from nearly 100 years of travels; from a travel writer, an art critic, ...view morea composer and conductor, an architect, an interior designer, a writer, an installation artist, a filmmaker, an illustrator, a musician and their friends. This collection displays Russian & Lithuanian roots, the intellectual life of pre-war Europe, and of NYC, where the next generation raised their children surrounded by 1960’s architecture and design. The family patriarchs’ paintings are included in the auction, as are some of their grandchildren’s collection. The family is happy to share these humble treasures with those who find them interesting and inspiring.
On top of the artifacts collected from all over the world, other highlights include large stamp and coin collections, robotics parts, projectors, musical instruments, film equipment, fabrics, vinyl records, vintage jewelry, sterling silver and much more.
Proceeds of this auction will be used to fund the educational fees of 8 orphan Maasai girls from Nainokanoka, Tanzania. These young students are committed to using their education to empower Maasai girls, fight FGM and early marriage, and to support the well-being of their community.
