Lee Duran was born Feb. 2nd 1941. Lee caught the bug for speed and fast streamlined forms at a young age. He got into motorsports in his teenage years and spent 50 years of his life ...view moreracing everything from boats to vintage cars.

Lee had many talents besides his automotive skills. He was also an architect, sculptor, inventor, and entrepreneur. Lee was a well respected architect and opened his own private Architecture firm in Wellfleet MA in 1970. Later moving to Lyme CT.

After spending 15 years as an architect in Lyme Lee focused his attention towards restoring, showing, and racing vintage vehicles. He combined these skills and his Architectural background to create Art Deco works of art. His Retro sculptures combined light, motion and speed to create streamlined, fast moving, fluid forms that give the impression of movement while standing still. His pieces were created in very limited numbers.

His work has been shown and sold in galleries from coast to coast, including New York City and California.

Unfortunately his love of racing eventually took his life on Aug. 30th 2014. Lee passed from injuries suffered after his 1934 MG PA Special crashed during the Lime Rock Park Historic Festival at Lime Rock Speedway in CT.
