If you love vintage advertising, (like we do), this one is definitely for YOU! 1944, during World War II, Proctor & Gamble framed full- page Ad for their cooking shortening/ fats that they sold to the military during the war to help feed our soldiers. The famed illustrator was Albert Dorne 1904-1965. Dorne worked his way up from ad agency gopher to leading illustrator for Liberty, Saturday Evening Post, Life, True, Colliers', Look. Also World War II posters, menu art for the Stork Club, and major ad campaigns. At one time he was the head of an illustrators' school in Westport. This was a working studio copy that the artist used during the final corrections/ improvements period prior to insertion into various media. Those are the actual Artist's hand-written notes. P&G's well-known product- Crisco- is mentioned in the ad copy for "civilian use".
Art poster is 18 1/2" wide x 24 1/2" tall.
The frame is 22 5/8" wide x 28 5/8" tall.
