Plate has no cracks or chips. Very good condition.
"This plate commemorates Williamsburg, Viriginian, one of the earliest seats of government in Colonial United States.
The plate is decorated in multicolors. The center features a image of well-to-do Colonial Americans enjoying a day outside by the Governor’s Palace. The border is decorated with several important images that are key points in early American life:
The Capitol and Governor’s Palace at Williamsburg,
the ships that brought colonists to Jamestown,
the old church tower at Jamestown,
the Moore House at Yorktown,
and George Washington firing the first canon at the siege of Yorktown.
The plate measures 10 3/8” in diameter.
The backstamp provides historical background of the plate’s decorations, including the central scene and border images. It also includes the Wedgwood trademark, Williamsburg Ware Commemorative and Wedgwood of Etruria & Barlaston Made in England
There is also an incised mark below this that reads WEDGWOOD 10R56"
