Fine flat weave hand woven wool rug, with beautiful moss green, pink, cream floral pattern on central terra cotta medallion, surrounded by patterned black ground and border, with fringe.
Bessarabian rugs, also called rose kilim, were from the Eastern European area made up of Moldova, Ukraine, and some Russian provinces. Most date to the late 19th and early 20th century, the end of Ottoman rule, and are considered to be a combination of European and Oriental design and technique.
