Vintage lighted beer sign - Schmidt’s of Philadelphia, Cold beer, one beautiful beer! Take home

It is made of plastic and metal by Edward Nassan Displays of Philadelphia in the 1950s. It can be mounted on the wall (two holes in back) or hang from the ceiling by using a cord or chain.

It still lights up well with an intact cord and switch. The texturing on parr’s of the sign is soiled and cannot be safely cleaned. The soiling is not really noticeable when the sign is illuminated.

It most likely hung in a bar for many years and then made its way to a home bar. The ‘Take home’ referred to the policy at the time in PA when you could buy beer (two quarts I was told) from a bar and take it home to drink.

Notes: No dings, no dents, no cracks, works well.

Consistent with age and use.
