Lovely little French music box of gilded metal with a red bird perched inside a domed bird cage, from the works of renowned maker Blaise Bontems, from the 1940s. Bontems was known for making realistic automated bird music boxes that imitated the image and song of a bird.

Notes: Although displays some wear and the patina of age, this item is in excellent working order.
