Two Vintage Detailed Map Engravings depicting Rome and Florence by Georg Balthasar Probst with Professional Mattes and Frames

Unique large panoramic views of both of Rome and Florence, engraved by Georg Balthasar Probst after the views drawn by Friedrich Bernhard Werner, who made a series of views of European cities in this large-scale format. Original engravings date approximately to the 1740s, though there is no indication as to the age of this piece. Both show the city from a slight elevation and feature a numbered key at the bottom of the map identifying important sites and buildings. Stickers on the rear of the prices indicate professional framing at Empire Studios in New Canaan, CT.
