Item Description

Two wonderful highly detailed parian vases.
Vase with blue details measures 3.5" W x 7.75" H.
Cream colored urn vase measures 5" W x 10" H. This vase has a hole on the underside - not suitable for holding water.

Parian ware is a type of biscuit porcelain imitating marble. It was developed in the 1840s by the Staffordshire pottery manufacturer Mintons, and named after Paros, the Greek island renowned for its fine-textured, white Parian marble, used since antiquity for sculpture. google.com

Notes: Blue vase has chipped edge. Overall losses to delicate relief work.
