Large, extremely heavy (weighted perhaps?) Chinese possibly antique famille verte porcelain vase set on a hardwood base, with a pagoda form off-white shade and a red gemstone finial. The hand-painted decoration on the porcelain has a lovely slip texture you can feel and the artwork is finely done. This vase was made into a lamp in the mid-twentieth century but was not drilled, the cord is attached with "invisible" wire (fishing line) to the back side of the piece and attached directly to the lightbulb portion at the top, to spare the vase from being drilled. However, it is firmly stuck to the wood base.
