Measurements are 25.5 x 27.5 x 38. Potter’s wheel is a square, wooden base and surround, lined with galvanized metal. The gears, the shaft, and the wheel platform are machined steel, manufactured by the engineers at the place of work ( possibly Hamilton Standard, or Combustion Engineering, somewhere within CT.) It is a treadle style wheel, non-electric, manually controlled with the potter’s foot. It is unique in that the metal platform where the potter places a plaster bat, to throw the clay on, has a machined, incised pattern on the top surface. The bats all have the same reverse of the pattern poured into the bottom surface of the plaster. It enables the potter to easily adhere the bat to the top surface of the metal wheel. It is all perfectly centered.
