Born in Sauk Centre, Minnesota, Guy Williams has earned an award-winning reputation throughout Minnesota for his lush, dramatic acrylics and lithographs which have been part of the regional landscape for more than four decades. Educated at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design Guy has held teaching positions at the School of Associated Arts, Dakota Fine Arts Society and the White Bear Adult Education Program. His work graces both permanent and private collections in Europe, Canada, and the United States. He has had numerous solo exhibitions, including ones at the White Bear Lake Gallery of Fine Arts, West Lake Gallery, School of Associated Arts, Bethel College, Red Wing Arts Center, The Anderson Center and has been part of many group shows and installations. At once powerful, energetic and erotic, Guy’s work is dominated by bold staccato colors and possesses an air of spontaneous invention, best characterized perhaps as solo improvisations in homage to the imagination.
