Lot #10 of 165
Item Description

Large, impressive walnut framed Continental (French?) tapestry, likely dating from the early 20th century, it depicts a seventeenth century drawing room scene with two ladies and two gentlemen talking over tea or coffee. This piece displays very delicate and elegant embroidery work mounted within blue velvet with a surrounding gold rope at the margins in a heavy walnut frame with wood backing. It also has a gold tasseled rope at the back ready for wall hanging. Tapestry itself measures 30" x 20", total framed measurements above.

Notes: Overall good vintage condition, one tiny pull to tapestry above far left lady's head (shown in closeup photo) and a small scuff to the frame on the left (also photographed) that may be able to be buffed out.
