"It is used for making statistical demonstrations. Math teachers might be interested in it. You make a known mix of beads and then a scoop takes a statistical sample of the whole. That particular set was made by a guy by the name of William Edwards Deming to demonstrate poor management decision making. He would go around running a demonstration where the red balls were manufacturing defects and the white balls were good products."
This collapses down to fit in a carrying case, and includes the sides, the lid, and three bead paddles.
