Hudson Pewter statue, "Apache in Pursuit", by Philip Kraczkowski, 1971, attached to marble base.
Philip Kraczkowski (American, 1916 – 1996)
Phil Kraczkowski was born in Attleboro, Massachusetts in November 28, 1916. Although he sculpted many bronze bust of and for many world famous figures including a commission by Lady Bird Johnson to give to LBJ, He is best known for designing the original prototype for the G.I. Joe action figure in 1963 for Hasbro. His bronze bust of J. Edgar Hoover can be seen at the FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C. He passed away in September 21, 1996.
