This is one of Matisse's last pieces made during his last final days is an abstract take on "One Thousand and One Nights," the famed collection of Middle Eastern folk tales relayed by the fictional Scheherazade each evening to avoid death at the hands of a murderous Persian king. Dimensions are 16 3/4 x 35 on gouache-stained paper. The colors are very vibrant and the paper is thick, may be a linocut. There are two small water stains at the bottom - photos but in very good overall condition. Unframed.
