GOLD GEISHA WOODEN PLAQUE, HAND CARVED STONES & MOTHER OF PEARL: Vintage Hand Painted, Brass Hanger, Japan

This plaque is unusual. It may be Chinese or Japanese. The geisha women are three-dimensional, and their clothing is made out of hand carved stone. We are not sure if it is jade, soapstone, onyx, or a combination of the three. The figure on the right has a carved mother-of-pearl lower skirt. Their faces are hand drawn and the vegetation growing in the background is done in black ink with a fine brush. Quite pretty.

Notes: Please view the numerous, detailed photos for an accurate appraisal of this item's condition. This is a vintage item. It is dirty in spots. The brass hanger with Asian design is tarnished. The plaque is discolored, the paint is chipped off in areas and has scratches and scuffs.
